Andre, a member of the BRCP, introduced already in Leipzig his plans of quitting academia and building himself a place to work and live. He actually proceeded in his plan and updated per skype call.

• Instead of renting a workshop, he was able to find squat, that gives him space wihtout monetary contribution but instead he helped repairing and cleaning the building. So he was able to set up a base for all his ideas with much less monetary costs. The drawback is, that nobody can predict how long the squat will be there and that all major decisions have to be made together with sometimes difficult people. However, so far there were no major problems and Andre is very happy about the situation!
• He is now in an experimental phase and just built the first kicker table. He can survive for about one year after his actual post-doc contract finishes and he wants to use this time to find out if he can survive buy selling the kickers.
• He is thinking about other projects besides the kickers, but he needs to see how much time there will be.
